Standing and Walking - Quentin is on the Move!
Quentin started to really walk during his birthday weekend. He was up pushing his toys around the floor and wouldn’t slow down. Since then, he has started getting up on his own and walking quite a bit while holding on to our fingers as we scoot along with him. He still crawls quite a bit as I think it is still the fasted mode of transportation for him. Look at the photo - we can’t believe he has reached this stage already (I guess we can’t believe over a year had gone by). We are headed to Cancun, Mexico this weekend to celebrate Aunt Connie’s 60th birthday. Look for more pictures later on in the month from our beach trip. Quentin must be checking out all of the Mexican beaches. Last spring we took him to Cabo and now he is going to check out the Caribbean side. You’ll see us soon with our tans!

Quentin wants a Harley Davidson!
Our friends Rose and Jeannine came over to visit today and Rose was on her new yellow Harley. The last time they came to visit Rose was on the back of Jeannine’s new black Harley. Needless to say, we all had to go out and take a picture on their new bikes. Can’t you see Stuart, Quentin and me on our Harleys?!? Quentin is ready for a ride as always.

Quentin visits Aunt Fannie in Arizona
I had to go to Phoenix to work for three weeks, so Quentin and Stuart came along with me for part of my stay. We stayed at the very nice Arizona Biltmore Hotel. We went to dinner over our friends Ken and Bob’s home one night (we forgot to take a picture) and another night we went to visit my Great Aunt Fannie who lives in Sun City, AZ. As you can see from the picture, Quentin wanted to play with anything he could find in Aunt Fannie’s house.

Quentin Loves Spike!
David, Mark and Spike came to visit us at our home in Rancho Mirage this weekend. Quentin chased their dog, Spike, around all weekend. Everytime Quentin sees a dog he gets excited and starts “screaming” for the dog to come over so he can pet it. We would love to get Quentin a dog, but we just don’t stay home long enough to take care of one...maybe later on down the road.

One Year Doctor’s Appointment
Mr. Q had his one year doctor’s appointment today. He LOVES his Dr. Bess and she loves him too. He was 23.4 pounds, 33 inches (yes, almost 3 feet) and a big head! He is the picture of health and growing everyday! Now, we are on to the adventure of no more formula and real food!

3. Sharing a moment by the pool with Aunt/Godmother Teri.
4. The beautiful Bells!
5. Grandmother Dulcenia feeds Mr. Q.
6. Granddaddy Warren and Grandmother Dulcenia lounge with the Q man.
7. Teri and Dondry pose with Quentin. How cute!

Quentin’s First Christmas

Quentin, Stuart, and I headed back to Virginia for Christmas - for Quentin’s First Christmas! Quentin spent lots of time with his Grandma Dulcenia, Grandpa Warren, Aunt Teri, and many other family members and friends. Quentin received so many toys, clothes, and other items for Christmas - he doesn’t know what to play with! After opening up all of his presents, Quentin still prefers to play with our cell phones, any remote control, keys, and anything he can get his hands on in the kitchen (as you can see from the pic - he is swiffering the floor). We had such a good time in Virginia and everyone loved seeing Quentin. Quentin made Grandma Dulcenia feel much better during the week as she is going through her cancer treatment. We will be back soon! Here are some pictures from Christmas in Virginia:
1. Mom, Dad, Allen, Stuart, and Quentin on Christmas Day (Teri was taking the picture).
2. Dad, Teri, & Quentin on Christmas Day.
3. Dad, Mom, & Quentin.
4. Quentin and Grandma Dulcenia relaxing.
5. Quentin and Cousin Dawna.
6. Quentin and Cousin Marla. Quentin will have a new cousin to play with soon as Marla & David are expecting a baby boy in a few months.
7. Quentin and one of his “favorite” toys - the swiffer.
8. Cousin LaSean came to visit Quentin.
9. Aunt Connie, Aunt Charmae, and Uncle Melvin were all home for the holidays to see us.
10. Stuart, Allen, & Quentin before church service.
11. Quentin and Shannon - Quentin fell in love with the reverend’s daughter on Christmas Eve and at church.

Quentin Attends Cousin Trina’s Graduation
Cousin Trina has been taking classes in Los Angeles over the past eleven months, so we have had a chance to see her quite a bit. On Sunday, December 14, she graduated from the Black HIV/AIDS Institute. Congresswoman Maxine Waters was the honored speaker for the graduation and she took a liking to Quentin. As you can see, Quentin is trying to figure out who Maxine is, while also admiring her red glasses. Cousin Shaunte was in attendance too and was taking all of the pictures. We are happy for Trina as she continues on to earned her Master’s/PhD in Philadelphia. We are sure that Trina will still come out to Los Angeles to visit often.

Quentin Visits Santa Claus
Quentin went to visit Santa Claus for the first time today. We had been planning to take Quentin to the Beverly Center so he could take a picture with “HUNKY” Santa (yes, only in LA), but instead we only had time to see the traditional “full-figured” Santa. Quentin didn’t seem too excited about sitting on Santa’s lap - as you can see he was sleeping heavily and did not wake up for his photo. More Christmas pics to come as we head to Virginia for the holidays!

Quentin’s first Thanksgiving
Here is a picture of Quentin and part of his California family for his first Thanksgiving. He LOVED the stuffing and twice-baked potatoes! He is now eating some regular food and loves it. We all had a wonderful meal at Uncle Gary’s!

Quentin just had his first Halloween. While we didn’t go trick or treating, we did have our own little party. We think he looked too cute in his bear outfit. Next year, we’ll make sure others besides his Daddies see him!
1. The Bear Walks
2. The Bear Sits
3. The Bear Crawls. Yes, Mr. Quentin is now crawling everywhere. It’s kind of a tummy crawl/scoot but it gets him where he wants to go!
4. The Bear Claws Daddy Stuart.
5. The Bear Smiles with Daddy Allen.
We hope you enjoy the pictures. Quentin wishes his Grandma Dulcenia a wonderful trip next week to Germany and Paris! He can’t wait until she takes him! He loves her so much!!!

New Orleans for Grandma’s 90th Birthday!!!

In September, we had the best time going to New Orleans to celebrate my adopted mom’s 90th birthday! We had taken the family there for her 85th and she loved it so much that we promised to go back for her 90th. Of course, this trip was a little bigger since our family has grown with new in-laws and babies!
Mom had the best time and we made some really special memories including visiting the aquarium, Mardi Gras museum, a steam boat jazz dinner cruise, and amazing dinner at August in a penthouse just for us! Here are some pics:
1. Grandma Irma, the birthday girl, with her two latest family additions: Quentin and Hunter!
2. Quentin with “the cousins” Lauren, Hunter, and Cheyenne.
3. Quentin with his daddies at the aquarium.
4. Quentin shares some small talk at the birthday dinner.
We hope we’ll be going back from mom’s 95th!
