Sunny Winter

We have been having an unusually warm and sunny January and Quentin has been loving it. He’s spent MLK weekend in Palm Springs with his God Sisters Dani and Emma and their mom Julia. They had a great time. Here are some pictures of the last few weeks of our “winter” with Mr. Q.
1. Dani, Emma, and Quentin in a “spider web” at the Living Desert.
2. Quentin, Emma and Dani ride a real Camel at the Living Desert. Amazing!
3. Quentin on the rides the carousel at the Living Desert.
4. Quentin and Dani on the carousel.
5. Too cute.
6. Emma shows Q some love.
7. Quentin has his first Icee and he loved it. Who wouldn’t?
8. Dani, Emma, and Quentin had the opportunity to feed the Giraffes at the Living Desert but only Emma and Uncle Stuart were brave enough to do it. It’s actually pretty amazing to be that close to these beautiful creatures.
9. On the Choo Choo Train at the mall.
10. Mrs. Brassart (Daddy Stuart’s best friend from high school’s mom) came to visit and loved Quentin. She wanted to take him home but we said no!!!
11. Gavin and Quentin were at Daddy’s company party and had a bit too much to drink--we think!
12. Quentin loves to drive and we let him do it on our lap in Palm Springs because the streets are quiet and private. Hopefully we won’t get arrested!!!
13. Quentin got a new room and a new “big boy” bed. He is growing up so fast. 3 in a few weeks.
Love and Peace to you all!!!

Merry Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas Day that started with opening presents. We then went and placed some flowers on Grandma’s grave and wished her a Merry Christmas. We then went to Uncle Rudy and Aunt Marian’s house. Then, on to Great Granddaddy Bell’s house. Then to Gale, Donna, and Roslyn’s “old home place”. Then to Tita’s house. We ate at every one of them! But most importantly, we shared the love and had wonderful fellowship! Here are some pictures of Mr. Q’s 3rd Christmas. Our family is truly blessed.
1. Q and his Daddies on Christmas morning.
2. Q in front of the Christmas Tree in his Santa PJ’s.

Christmas Eve 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at Uncle Eugene and Aunt Joyce’s annual gathering. Food, Fun, and Family. What more can you ask for? We are truly blessed! Aunt Clara “Tita” gave Quentin a special copy of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” so we’ll be reading that to him tonight.
Here are a few pictures:

Christmas in Richmond Part 1

We arrived in Richmond to spend another wonderful family Christmas. It was a great trip and Quentin was a great traveler! He now loves videos and will sit like a good boy for the entire trip. Thank goodness we are over those rough traveling years.
Here’s a few quick pictures. Lots more to come!
1. Quentin loves flying and it doesn’t hurt that he is in first class with one daddy while the other daddy sat in coach! Hmmmm....how is that fair? But, it kept him happy! And, when Quentin is happy, Daddy is happy!
2. Being silly with Granddaddy.
3. A boy and his truck. An early Christmas present from Granddaddy.
4. I’m too cool with my leather hat and my Strawberry Shortcake motorcycle!
5. Q loves his Uncle Bernard who was the Inn Keeper in the church Christmas Play. Just say NO!
6. Q loves Cousin Mikey!!!
7. Cousin Donna strikes a pose with Mr. Q. We went and looked at condos with Donna and Quentin tried to get her to buy one so he could come visit her and swim.
8. Q sure loves Daddy.

A Family Weekend

We have just had another great family weekend. We left LA on Thursday evening after going to our friend Rose’s art opening and spent the weekend here in Palm Springs. Having Quentin as my son and Allen as my husband are the two greatest blessings God could ever bestow on me. I am so thankful.
Here are some pics of our good times this weekend.
1. Allen and Quentin in front of the Christmas tree.
2. Quentin loves to watch the massive train set at the Living Desert. He likes it more than the animals!
3. Daddy and Quentin share a meal at MacDonalds. I had a salad!
4. Daddy and Q and Buddy. No, we didn’t get a dog but Uncle Gary brought his over for a visit.
5. Quentin plays in the sand with “his” bucket at the Living Desert.
6. Allen, Quentin, Buddy, and Uncle Gary. You’d never know that Allen hates dogs!
7. Grandma Irma, Quentin, and Buddy. As you can see, Quentin is happy to pose for any photo with Buddy.
Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed week!

Lorisha

Our surrogate, Lorisha, came over for a swim playdate with her son Julian. Quentin and Julian had a great time playing together. It was so wonderful to see Lorisha. She gets prettier every time we see her! As most of you know, I work in the surrogacy field but each time I see Lorisha I am reminded that surrogacy is so much more than my career. It changed my life forever and brought the amazing Quentin into the world. There are no words to express our gratitude to Lorisha for what she did for us. As Pee Wee would say: “Thank You---infinity!”

Halloween 2010

Quentin had another fun Halloween as the Fireman. Some of you may remember this costume from last year. Well, it still fit and he didn’t want to wear his dinosaur costume so he was a fireman once again! We had a great time at my business partner Kim’s house for a Halloween party.
Enjoy the pics!
1. A boy and his pumpkin.
2. Quentin the fireman!
3. Quentin loves the spooky punch and candy!
4. I think Quentin ate more sugar than he has in his entire life!
5. Being silly with Daddy.
6. Making Daddy a pumpkin head.
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!!!!!

Daddy’s Birthday and Other Adventures

We had a great weekend together to celebrate Daddy Stuart’s birthday at the St. Regis in Laguna. Unfortunately, the rain kept us inside most of the time but we had fun just being a family. A big highlight was a visit to the Ocean Science Center where Quentin got up close and personal with the fishies. Where’s Nemo?
1. The family strikes a pose in the hotel lobby.
2. Daddy and Q talk to the fishies.
3. Birthday cake for breakfast. Yum!
4. Silly boys!
5. I love my son! What a great boy!
6. A little break in the weather so we took a walk...or should I say I carried Quentin. He’s going through a phase where he wants to be carried everywhere. Who wouldn’t?
Okay, that’s all the bday shots but here are some other shots from the past week:
7. Quentin is all smiles with the lovely Tamarah!
8. Daddy makes Quentin laugh!
9. Q with his new friend Jamie who works with Daddy.
10. Q with Jamie and her husband Charley. What a big boy he’s becoming!
11. Q with his god sister Dani and a pink guitar!
That’s it. Hope you are all doing great! Love and Peace.

3. Q LOVES his Granddaddy. I think the feeling is mutual.
4. Great Aunt Connie strikes a pose with the Q.
5. Granddaddy, Great Aunt Connie, and Q share some love.
6. Granddaddy, Aunt Teri, and Q are all hugs.

13. And, he is ready to drive Cousin Dana’s BMW!
14. Aunt Teri wasn’t about to let him drive her new Volvo convertible!
15. But, he could drive the lawnmower!

17. We leave you with Quentin happy and wearing Granddaddy’s hat.
Love to all!

Labor Day 2010

We had a great Labor Day 2010 in Rancho Mirage. Our friends Steve and Lindsay came with their son, Stevie, who is 1. Quentin definitely needs to continue work on his “sharing” skills but it was fun to have another little one in the house. Here are some pictures:
1. Steve, Stevie and Quentin lounge before dinner.
2. Lindsay is a really good sport to ride the “Mall Train” with Quentin and Stevie.
3. Q and Stevie ride the mall in style in their Fire Engine.
4. Dr. Quentin prepares for duty at the Children’s Museum.
5. Now, on to another occupation, Quentin decides medicine is not as lucrative as before so he opens a pizza parlor instead.

Another Wonderful Weekend with Quentin and Friends

It’s hard to imagine life being any better. We are so blessed to have such an amazing son who just gets more fun to be with each day. And, our friends are pretty great too! Here’s a look at this weekend.
1. Quentin’s first car date our Avital, the daughter of our good friends Judy and Gilbert. We spent a lovely afternoon having lunch at their house. Quentin was in heaven because there were children, dogs, and cars. What more could a guy ask for? And, we are definitely in favor of a marriage between these two!
2. Sometimes the lovebirds prefer driving their own cars.
3. Quentin takes a ride with Avital’s brothers, David and Daniel.
4. Quentin is torn between Avital and his “older” lady friend, Jessica. Hmmm....
5. Quentin waters the plants and himself!
6. We went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and were able to go on a real Air Force One. Here’s Daddy Allen and Q in front of the big bird.
7. Here’s Daddy Stuart and Q in front of President Reagan’s limo which looks really dated now but I remember how amazing I thought it looked back in the day. This was from 1984--the year Daddy Stuart graduated high school. Amazing that it looks dated since I haven’t aged a bit.
8. Daddy Allen and Q in front of Marine One, the presidential helicopter. We want to fly like that!
9. I love this picture. Daddy Allen and Q walking down the street. We are blessed!
Have a great week everyone!
